Ep. 01: Introductions
Great, another middle-aged guy with the need to start a podcast. But, hear me out on this one, because it's worth it.
Introductions are needed
Maureen Corrigan, award-winning American author, scholar, and literary critic was once quoted as saying:
“It’s not that I don’t like people. It’s just that when I’m in the company of others – even my nearest and dearest – there always comes a moment when I’d rather be reading a book.”
If you can even halfway relate to that, then you are in the right place.
I will do my best to mix book suggestions and reviews among the muddy waters of sarcasm and dry humor. If you are expecting more then you are just in the wrong place. This episode is my introduction, how I managed to read nearly 300 books over the past few years (all by myself, I might add), how this podcast came to be, and what to expect.

Show Notes
One thing I hate is watching a video or listening to a podcast and then going to the notes of the episode looking for a link mentioned only to find it missing. The plan here to never omit helpful resources that are discussed on the show, so you can expect show notes with more links than are probably necessary.
In the introduction episode, I mentioned an article by Jon Acuff that helped kickstart my desire to read. That article, along with many others Jon has written, is a great source of inspiration. If you find yourself struggling to read anything at all, I would recommend starting there.
Where to Listen
Right now, Have You Read This? is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, Google Podcasts, iHeart Radio, and a condensed version of every episode is available if I am allowed to corner you and bore you to death with it.
