November Reads & Favorites: 2023
Somehow finished reading ten books in November 2023 and ain't mad at it. I will end up hitting my reading goal next month on top of discovering some new favorite authors.
Another month of reading completed! Found some fantastic reads and a few favorites.
The Woman in Me by Britney Spears
Where All Light Tends to Go by David Joy
Baby Teeth by Zoje Stage
All the Sinners Bleed by S.A. Cosby
A Dark Room in Glitter Ball City: Murder, Secrets, and Scandal in Old Louisville by David Domine
Abandon by Blake Crouch
Don't Let Them Get You Down by Philip Fracassi
The Nightmare Man by J.H. Markert
The Wasp Factory by Iain Banks
Sandy Hook by Elizabeth Williamson
Top Picks
I had heard people say that Alex Jones (Infowars) was a certified nutcase. I had no idea just how bad it was until diving into Sandy Hook by Elizabeth Williamson. The mention of the man’s name now triggers a gag reflex making me want to projectile vomit.
The highlight of the month was discovering S.A. Cosby and David Joy. These are just two wildly talented and creative authors. I am making it a mission to read everything they have written. The Wasp Factory was a dark ride, as well Don’t Let Them Get You Down, both of which earned a spot on my “Dark Reads” list on Goodreads. If you love darker books, those two will not let you down.
Finally, if you like Stephen King (I don’t) and want someone that is a talented author with a highly original storyline, J.H. Markert’s The Nightmare Man is for you. Great book and worthy of a podcast episode.
