Ep. 26: What Makes a Book Dark?
A "dark" novel to me might not be the same for you. A disturbing novel to you might be something I wouldn't even think twice about reading. Which got me thinking, what makes a book "dark" after all?
When I say I enjoy reading dark and disturbing books, that could mean different things to different people. Overall, I would say I prefer psychological thrillers the most, with a splash of horror. Extreme horror is not a preference of mine, yet that category of novels would most certainly be considered dark. In episode 26 of Have You Read This? I cover three novels that I found dark and disturbing all for different reasons.
